If you are a U-Maine undergraduate taking at least 6 credit hours who has paid the student activity fee, please feel free to schedule an appointment with our attorney via the link here:
Attorney O’Mara is a licensed Maine attorney. Consultations for students do not require further payment, although additional payment may be necessary should you wish to hire Attorney O’Mara to represent you in court, which is at his discretion. Contact information is available at the bottom of the page.
Appointments are made in default 30 minute blocks, but let us know via the contact information below if you feel a longer meeting is necessary. Walk-ins are accepted, but scheduling is encouraged to ensure availability.
When you arrive, you may be greeted by a student administrative assistant. These assistants have signed an agreement to protect confidentiality, and have received confidentiality best practices training.
Here is a map of our location in the Memorial Union on the University of Maine campus in Orono:
Below is the intake form you will be asked to fill out; feel free to fill in your information in advance and bring a copy with you. Please note a “conflicts check” will be completed when you arrive to ensure our attorney has not advised someone on the other side of your legal issue, such as the person who hit your car with theirs. Unfortunately as there is only one attorney, whichever person in a given case goes through the intake process first will be the client. Anyone else where there is a conflict in a given case will be referred to private or public services attorneys in the area which may or may not be at additional cost.
